West Peak Iron (ASX: WPI) has some potentially very interesting news on the horizon, with the company today granted a trading halt and placed in pre-open pending exploration results from its wholly owned Liberian project.
In Liberia, West Peak has four wholly owned granted licenses which in total cover almost 1000 square kilometres, and highlighting the potential of these - field activities identifies have identified iron enrichment with rock chip grades up to 64.6% iron.
Where this direct shipping ore potential of the projects becomes even more interesting, is the location, with the projects in close proximity to historic iron ore mines and known iron ore resources, plus within 50 kilometres of railway and 100 kilometres of ports.
The halt will last until the earlier of an announcement being made to the market, or the opening of trade on Wednesday 7 March.
