You probably haven't observed, Gold Prices have fallen quite a lot since Bernanke's testimony to congress last week hence weakness in general gold sentiment in the short run.

And as for this announcement, is either
(a) an acquisition
(b) jv/takeover.. merger?..
(c) THEY HIT THE MOTHERLOAD FOUND AND ALIEN ARTEFACT and iS CURRENLY GETTING BOUGHT OUT BY THE US GOVERNMENT...
