Been offline the last couple days and missed most of the action - if a TH can be classed as action!
IMO (and probably only IMO) a deal with a single entity had been bubbling away in the background and they were hoping to get it sorted in time to announce at AGM. It's good to keep 'maybes' under wraps until they are finalised. Look what happened to WHN when they announced a letter of intent with a JV partner, only to have the other board smash it. Ouch. MD gone shortly after. We don't tell the kids of fun stuff we're planning until it's all sorted etc. Perhaps the lawyers got to it...
So unfortunate, but probably the way it had to be. Other party may well have requested confidentiality until it was signed, sealed and delivered.
