Whilst some rightly argue it could lead to short termism I think what happened to DSH provides an argument for the need to introduce quarterly financial reporting in Australia.
If it were in place at the time of DSH collapse management would have needed to provide 1Q16 results (and Sep-15 balance sheet) to the market in mid October and discuss likely 2Q16 results. Would having to make this announcement pushed management to undertake a capital raising? Who knows.
