I disagree with you on this point. I think you can make an educated evaluation on a speculative stock and if investing longer-term it is imperative that you do so on a regular basis. In my 30 years of trading I have consistently evaluated my speculative holdings but to do that successfully I need as much details as possible in front of me, the more I have, the more accurate my assessment will be.

Saying all this, everyone has their own technique. If playing price guessing games on lack of information works for you then keep at it. In the end increasing your net worth defines your success.

In primary school I traded baseball cards, so in my 40 years of trading I have learnt that no matter how many rare cards you have, if the school bully punches you in the face and steals your cards your ego eventually learns not to worry about defining your worth by what you own, theres always some prick trying to steal it from you
