harba, I gotta say - "my sentiments exactly". for me the fact they are raising capital is a little annoying in that it shows somewhat poor planning, but I can forgive this if it is a result of much greater than anticipated demand for the product. What is most annoying is the manner in which they have raised capital. let's not forget this is a carbon copy of what they did last time and it screws over the retail investors in favour of the so called "sophs", who I agree are just privy to more information and are not actually necessarily more sophisticated or smarter than retail investors at all. the coup de grace is that on both CRs they have failed to include retail investors. Ok, the reality is we will all get to 'participate' if we want to because the price will probably go down to 8c; but that is not the point.
management have been great, imo, at developing an excellent product. they have worked super hard and smart to have it reviewed and viewed and trialled and now placed and sold. they have kept the market informed about this and that and apart from the forgivable holdups in reaching backers, they have done a good job managing teething problems.
BUT they have not behaved in a way that is very respectful to their shareholders. This worries me. It worried me when they did it last time and it worries me now. I hope it is due to a lack of experience and expertise but that seems wishful thinking. to me the truth is more likely that they are not particularly focussed on treating their shareholders well. This is all too common on the asx in my experience (I have no experience of investing outside australia, so other companies on asx is my only relevant experience).
NUH board - treat your shareholders with respect, surely it would be unethical to leave us to guess at a CR while those in the know (hypothetical here no direct accusation intended) sell shares for 10, 9c, to other HUMAN BEINGS, secure in the knowledge they can buy them back at 8c?? NUH board, surely you would not deal with people who carry out their duties in an unethical manner that disadvantages some of your shareholders?? NUH board, the days of shareholders passively accepting unethical treatment may well be drawing to a close don't you think? NUH board, shareholder activism at this time in the company's life would be something of a disaster don't you think? NUH board, can you do a bit better than this? We are paying you are we not?? NUH board, is there a better way to raise money than the methods you are employing? have you explored all options and considered the downside of the method you have chosen???? NUH board are you executing your duties as well as you possibly can??
