While you may be right about the potential acquisition of a business or series of farms, I also think sooner rather than later it will be necessary to build their own purpose designed dairy.
In March'17 I viewed the Kings Meadows facility which was modified from part of an existing egg packaging facility and it was painfully clear to me that with the product development in the pipeline (then), and uptake by consumers, contracts to supply interstate / overseas could ensure that MVD would outgrow the facility very quickly.
I was told at the time that the preference to build their own state of the art dairy on a green fields site was knocked back by shareholders previously.
There is simply no room to expand the existing operation on its current site, and my tip is that the time may now be near.
There has been consistent recruiting of strategic staff in the 9 months since, as well as the Pyengana acquisition. Some of these positions suggested to me a degree of fore-planning and far-sightedness, as well as being as a result of ongoing growth.
