I see this post got a lot of thumbs, but China Molybdenum is not my favorite scenario. I prefer an American entity on the share registry. That would really open up the competition and make Manono a true global player.
In addition, if I was CEO of Albemarle, I'd be collecting up $AVZ shares to avoid losing market share from SQM in the next decade. But that sounds probably so rational that it can't be true...
Nevertheless, here are 3 reasons why that would make sense:
1. Greenbushes expertise (Didn't ML mention Greenbushes last weeks in his tweets as the only other tier 1 hardrock lithium mine?)
2. China experience (co-owner Greenbushes with Tianqi)
3. SQM has KDR and LAC. ALB needs to act soon otherwise will lose the battle?
Time will tell I guess...
