    Yes, it is in their own interest now that they are part of the world economy. There are some problems , however with enforcement, mainly in relation to illegal copies of music, videos, fashion items where the cost of copying is low and the operation easy to hide. Capital intensive re-engineering of patented technologies is much more difficult to exploit by private individuals wanting to hide such illegal activities and IMHO it is not an issue.
