I'm not sure if anyone has tried doing an ABN or ASIC search for Checkmate Research, but I found a Checkmate Research Group ABN 47 552 545 656. It appears as though it is a sole trader based in Sydney, and the business name and ABN was registered on 24 April 2018.
This may be a co-incidence, and this may be a completely different Checkmate Research. In which case, the proprietor of this particular business may be just as much a victim as CCP. That is why I've chosen not to name them here.
As for the report itself ... it looks like a Year 11 Business Studies project, so I stopped reading at around page 4.
