If they were running the algorithym on data as it came in progressively through the clinical trial, yes it would be locked so results were consistent.

In this case the algorithym is not run until all the cough data is accumulated at the end of the trial. What the FDA are interested in is the app the company intends to license..ie the latest version not an old version from a year ago.
