I'll not pretend to be knowledgeable about PNR specifically - although I have taken an interest from the sidelines now. But IMO the market isn't really giving PNR any "acquisition currency", with the SP in the dog box, at least not for anything biggish. Usually if a company was perceived as a suitable takeover suitor, the SP would be higher to factor it in (like NST as the obvious example).
I'd be keen to hear if there is something special about PNR that could specifically attract a bid.
