Really can't see it being bad news; they've spent months (actually years) preparing.
No doubt they've selected a nice big fat coal seam to drill into, once they light it gas will start flowing within minutes.
I imagine they will light it early in the day, spend the rest of the day burning gas while taking readings from various instruments.
Tomorrow, they'll likely kick-off with a fulsome announcement confirming the flare event and probably quoting preliminary flow rates, pressures, maybe gas composition etc.
The trading halt gives them time to tweak it up, run tests, and take photos without worrying that information will leak out unfairly.
Yeah, this is going to be a "material announcement" alright.
