I am forming an opinion through my observations of the Vanadium stocks I hold, that the market as a whole is beginning to be shorted in the same manner the Lithium market overall has been shorted for some time.
Both assets are IMO strategic assets of national importance to Australia, and Australians, perhaps with some sideline support of their Kiwi neighbors who are interested should be encouraged to buy up, and hold long term these assets.
The government should be providing research and development grants to companies to refine these products, taking them from raw state to ready-for-production or even finished product state, creating skilled jobs for more Aussies in specialist and non-specialist roles within Australia.
Allowing open shorts on such assets is only encouraging foreign purchasing from countries which considerable political and legal pressure is being applied to see excess funds are spent in overseas expansion (think the belt and road project, as the ultimate example).
