CTD's response will be interesting. I would like to think that they accounted for goodwill complying with accounting standards and that the auditors verified this.
Accounting for goodwill is not rocket science. It may be as simple as VGI not agreeing with CTD's carrying value of the acquisition s( eg they regard the acquisitions not performing to their carrying value or CTD overpaid for them) and should be writing them off faster. Opinion Vs Opinion.
Analysts and Businesses disagree all the time its just that VGI have a huge short bet which raises the inevitable questions.
