Regarding interest on the cash account- most brokers are extremely stingy in this area, only NAB seems to have a cash option that is actually worthwile. If you have enough cash that it it actually makes a difference then surely you would just keep some in a seperate account or just buy AAA or QPON. $18 to buy and sell is negligible if you have a cash balance worth actually seekinginterest on.
