lol, at this stage "it's just a publicity stunt to fill the spp lol" could be a valid reason for management to do this.
Anyways, I hope I am wrong though. It is just frustrating watching this all go down.
If I were a betting man, I would say it would not be surprising that they do another SPP in the future after this current one.
