@hamish$invest I am a HFT systems engineer for a top IB.
Even a basic knowledge of technology and finance lets you do better due diligence than 99% of brokers let alone shareholders.
I have written many tools which automates a lot of the due diligence you'll never see in an annoucement.
My advice to you:
- Try reading up on the basic concepts so you know the right questions to ask
- There is also hidden information if you know where to look and what tools to use
