It might be worth some of you contacting your current broker to see if you are classed as a sophisticated investor as the criteria is not as tough as some people might think.

I think this is the criteria:
To become a sophisticated investor, you have to acquire a certificate from a qualified accountant, stating that you have net assets of $2.5 million and/or that your gross income for the past two financial years has been at least $250,000 a year. ...

So if Patterson's are struggling to raise the extra capital a few of you large holders could always contact them and take extra shares up at the discounted price which would help protect your current holding and hopefully give you additional profits down the track.
