With the 2 recent new hires in the US, perhaps costs are going to be higher than expected over the coming quarters.

However, TBH I see this as a positive.

When the share price last rocketed and investors were calling for the company to do a cap raise, I recall Ian making a comment to the effect that he would only raise capital when the business required cash for growth and the company would not just do a cap raise due to an inflated share price when the company didn't have a specific use for the cash. Based on the reports released yesterday it appears the company is growing and has plenty of opportunities in the pipeline.
