Lame response? Maybe...but maybe there’s more to it that can’t be disclosed. Maybe they’ve received hundreds of emails and need a standard response (it certainly looked like a pre prepared statement).
It’s a business decision. They don’t need to sugar coat, just be honest.
If people don’t trust the leaders, get out.
