most of the slags co-produced from steelmaking from titaniferous magnetites are 14 - 22% V2O5. It’s the main feedstock for vanadium production and has been that way for over 60 years in South Africa, China and former USSR.
it can be conventionally salt roasted and leached or sometimes directly reacted to make crude low grade ferrovanadium
