I once held shares in QBE when from memory it went to $25, before ?O'Halloran retired and the skeletons of the aquisition spree profits started falling out of the cupboard. For long term investors who have held on to their shares, their wealth has collapsed by over two thirds now...
Almost as good as owning shares in mining companies that invest in shale oil or build tailing dams which collapse.
So much for "blue chips"
