Well if you're asking if it would be a good idea to buy, when you say you have "so little understanding"... then, no, obviously. Unless you feel like gambling and you're honest with yourself and admit that is all you're doing.
Otherwise, do some more research before you buy or sell something like this. You won't regret it.
