So much speculation going on here. There is no point analysing the wording of the pause or the trading halt - there is every chance it’s a please explain from the ASX, or something that is ASN initiated.
Hypothetically, ASX could have issued the please explain around 1pm and ASN requested a pause in trading to respond. After a couple of hours ASN could have realised it needed it more time to respond, and requested a trading halt citing additional information to PEA as the reason.
Alternatively, ASN could have come across information they genuinely did not have 8 hours earlier when they released the PEA.
We’ll find out soon enough.
