This milestone passed by without much fanfare
... even with last nights dip, TSLA has now now overtaken Toyota for the largest MC of any auto manufacturer ....
Presently
TSLA at ~US$190B (and has more than doubled its market cap YTD)
TM at US$183.25B
VW at $85.5B
BMW, Daimler, HMC, GM are all in to $40 - $49B
Crazy how "valuable" TSLA has become (considering the number of cars that it makes versus TMC & VW). Of course there is the Chinese EV manufacturer BYD (but they also sell a plug-in Hybrid ... TSLA purely EV).
Gigafactory, Terafactory, 1M mile battery, .... speaks to insatiable (future) demand for Lithium (assuming it is not obsoleted by some new tech). Every time I do those Terafactory numbers and how many PLL equivalent projects that is says the numbers don't add up very well ... huge capital investments required to keep up with TSLA let alone all the others (as noted in PLL presentation).
Meanwhile, we deal with COVID-19, recession, depression, blah, blah
