The simplest explanation- the co needed to wait 18 months for lithium demand. SP was diabolically low considering future value, so rather than spend money on Chris and team and big dilution for minimal short term gain he did the honourable thing...or the board did it for him.
You can phone in the Q at the AGM. I'd put money on that being the answer.
