I agree - profit is found in solving problems and adding value.
Cultivation is a solved problem, and can be done by just about anyone, anywhere. The only problem in cultivation is gov't resistance leading to exclusivity of rights, and this is evaporating.
The true opportunity is in adding value to the cultivated product.. For medicinal use of course - there are huge opportunities there. But I can also see OTC CBD products being an opportunity akin to dietary supplements - adding huge product margins onto very cheap source material. With the added bonus that manufacturing and production facilities also take up far less real estate and infrastructure.
IMHO, in this space, hemorrhaging cash / debt to cultivate isn't going to be nearly as lucrative as investing money into producing a range of consumer-friendly branded products that can be made available in pharmacies across the country.
