If the ASX permitted companies to only need to obtain the approval of the top 20 shareholders to undertake material transactions this would cause massive complaint from other shareholders in a company. The suspensions are put in place at the discretion of the ASX where it believes the extent of the transaction may have a significant impact on a share price.
Anyway the announcement is now out. I am not sure of the importance of this purchase but I assume anything in the vicinity of DEG will be positive.
