You are ignoring the fact that residential use is extremely price sensitive. Most people have been brainwashed by economists/media/politicians that the lowest price is the only relevant criteria for buying anything. Redflow batteries are not cheap and marketing to end-users is expensive and time consuming. And for that matter, even the cheaper lithium batteries are still considered by installers as not at the right price point yet for mass residential take-up.
While there are some people like you and me who are prepared to pay more for a quality product, we are very much in the minority and not enough to justify the cost.
otoh, niche markets can help get economies of scale going and establish a reputation. Telcos are such a niche market, where Redflow batteries have unique properties that no-one else can match. But getting that first big sale is always a challenge. And especially since the replacement time for batteries at these sites is around ten years. Got to catch the point in the cycle when lots of batteries need to be replaced.
