Many many years ago when I was a young boy, my parents finally caved in and got cable tv here in the USA, I think it was 1982. One of the most interesting stations was ESPN which beamed all kinds of global sports into our living room. They went around the world and bought up feeds from all kinds of obscure (cheap rights) sports, including Australian Rules Football. We quickly became fans of the sport, the dudes in the white suits and hats with the flags and the beauty and violence of the sport. I never quite understood, being slow at science, why you were wearing winter gear and we were in shorts and sweating our asses off.
Just wanted to share that, I have no idea why.
