A letter from an accountant confirming sophisticated investor status can be enough to get you access into funds. The investment funds want your cash, they're not particularly bothered by the details - so to speak. Dodgy perhaps, and I've never gone down that path nor would want to, but had a meeting a whiles back with an investment manager from a investment firm who was willing to recommend an accountant who would write the letter for me. Again, not something I entertained.
