Lived in Beihai for 6 months in 2015 ..........interesting facts Beihai known for its pearls and is the fastest growing city in the world with 1.5m people. Very friendly place never no problems, only a handful of foreigners seen. Visited MacDonalds once a week as a treat did also have Pizza hut and KFC walking distance. Sometimes unsure what some foods were so reluctant to try. BBQ sparrows was a definite no served on a stick head & legs included fortunately noticed just before it entered my mouth. Could easily live there permanently except for the heat from May/Oct.
