    Confused?

You dont seem to realise that FFR have had two trading halts each followed by an announcment.

The first is the one that people keep quoting. Thats where they hit a totally unrepresentative but small ore shoot which are often found on the margins of much larger but lower grade ore bodies. These shoots are what the old timers mined...but they could only go down so deep. But these old mines are a sign to a geologist that a larger ore body might be adjacent. In this case the ore body has already been found and we know it is not that large or high grade.

The ore shoot may not otherwise be terribly significant...it may contain a few hundred ounces and being on the margins of a larger ore body that an open pit mine is targetting it may be diffivult to justify fully excavating it to depth..the strip ratio may be too high. But the old timers made good money close to the surface.

Its significance cannot be underestimated though, when the price of gold is high and uninfomed and inexperienced new market participants are ready to throw cash in on anything that is hyped up and "looks" impressive. Lifestyle companies might even chase these type of ore shoots instead of drilling in a more technically prudent manner to keep the hype going...if they have performance benefits nearly in the money thats a big incentive.
