Would not be surprised at all if it was something to do with "misappropriation" and an little old "fiddling of the books" as is were., coming out of the local regional management ranks. Thus causing a re statement of accounts.. ( refer some comment way back from the company re local management problems ?? cannot find the thread but sure remember it.)...all speculation of course.
If it is anything like this ,it usually can be addressed and sorted quickly albeit with some embarrassment at Board level.. problem is, they operate in China and loss of face along with political issues could make this very sensitive and difficult to fix.
