Briefly and to the best of my understanding: Fund/investment managers raise the funds through their clients who hold S708 certificates/high net wealth clients. This is a fast and effective way to raise capital as it alleviates the requirement for the company to issue a prospectus. Dont quote me but I imagine the company would have access to the capital in a matter of days, not weeks or longer as per a SPP.
