If you are spraying an overhead wall and it only needs to be 35mm thick instead of 60mm thick then intuitively distances between centers can be increased .
Steel fibres are used instead of steel mesh currently in shotcrete for mining have been for many years up to predetermined distances (centers) between roof bolts , plastic and glass fibres have been replacing steel fibres in the last 25 years .
Spraying steel fibre in shotcrete (often with calcium chloride to speed up drying ) and the fibres then only last one year before rusting out does not seem like a good idea .
Its could be possible to replace glass fibres with CNTs
I will leave it up to researchers to determine what will be applicable , I hope EDE are onto it though with their distributor in Australia .
