Another method for non-subscribers to read the full article in AFR is to stop the page from fully loading.
The way to do that is to hit the '×' at the right time. If the page fully loads, it works out who isn't a subscriber and then blocks everything except the title and the first couple of paragraphs. If it does that, hit refresh and try again with the 'x'.
