If it is ARDS results we are waiting on, the reason for the announcement wording might be due to wanting to keep everything under wraps until they have a clear path to approval (assuming positive result). If the announcement stated "Pending ARDS Results" or something similar, but after discussions with the FDA MSB decide to continue the trial it would cause a lot of confusion and would be hard to continue the trial if people suspected it already showed overwhelming efficacy.
I dont know what they would say the reason for the 2 day halt is but I cant see any other reason as to why they wouldnt say something like 'pending results" or pending decision from DSMB"
