If the TH is about the COVID trial, then I imagine having Novartis on board completely changes the conversation.
At the 30% and 45% readout, it may have went like this.
DSMB: Mesoblast has a drug that reduces COVID mortality.
FDA: Meso who??
Now at the 60% readout:
DSMB: Novartis has a drug that reduces COVID mortality.
FDA: Let's get this rolled out!
