Engineered constructs were assembled during the surgery using a mould to cast a 6-mm diameter by 1.5 mm deep layer of micro-pellets, set with Baxter Tisseel fibrin glue, on a CelGro™ collagen scaffold, and fixed in place with sutures. The pilot study was terminated 8 weeks later, and defect infill was characterised via histology.
