You can never take emotion 100% out of the equation though.

Besides you have to form a view as to what will happen to an investment over time and plan your actions accordingly. If the course changes dramatically you then have a bit of a view as to what you'd do. Maybe there is a brief grief that your plan didn't happen but then you make a new plan.

One of my recent re planning actions for instance was jumping off the falling knife of GGG moving those funds here. It would have been nice to sell at the peak but I still sold with a decent profit and their SP still is a fair bit below where I sold it. Now it's a much harder desicion as to where I leave those monies here as despite the fall I think there's better gains to see here, vs move some back to diversify risk.
