This appears to be a placement to someone who believes in the science and strategy - not necessarily Novartis or big pharma, more likely a strategic investor. It will help protect against an opportunistic buyout. Hopefully, it doesn't mean that Novartis has walked. More likely Novartis is still on board and MSB is taking measures to protect itself and prepare for scale.
