I can't participate in SPP's, that's why I prefer entitlements. I've also noticed companies that have SPP's generally treat their paper poorly. A nice tight pro rata entitlement shows that the value of the offer is close to true value of the company. Not giving away their shares so easily. Retail have the benefit of buying their fill on market without moving the price. Insto's don't have that luxury, although they have other tricks up their sleeve.
