just a quick point of interest in your calculations - people who go to aldi for liquor aren't connoisseurs, nor are they likely to be after a $15/20 bottle of wine. Aldi trade on the premise of convenience, and price. a shopper looking for a $20 bottle of wine is not likely to go to aldi, that shopper will got to dan murphy/first choice. an aldi shopper will be looking $10 and under for wine. anyone spending more than that will likely be an incidental purchaser, with little wine knowledge, and have little chance of repeat custom. i would suggest an average bottle price at aldi to be around the $5 to $10 price. Aldi also do a lot of 'unknown' brands for australia, these are brands bought overseas for cheaper than what an australian brand can be purchased. An aldi shopper is not looking for "greenseas tuna" they are looking for "tuna". when it comes to wine, people at aldi arent looking for "penfolds", they are looking for "wine".

I looked at the Special Buys site and the bottles of wine are about $10 per bottle, spirits are about $35 & beer is about $15 for 6 pack cans is equivalent to three bottles.. When you add up all the product prices on the Special Buys Liquor website is works out to about $22 per item. https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-liquor/ Wine has about 26% market share, spirits 28% & beer 46% so I thought about $15-20 average. If we use 1 x $10 wine bottle + 1 x $35 spirits bottle + 2 x $5 beer bottles = $55 / 4 bottles = $13.75 per bottle average is more accurate.
