This is not a leadership behaviours I'm sorry. This is dictatorship behaviour and not the way to inspire.

Fear makes people focus on not making mistakes from fear of loosing their jobs when they should be working.

My leadership style is to pull the best out of my team, not micro manage them.

This allows them to be imaginative and creative and do the right thing because they want to achieve the best they can.

Works well for me and many others in the 21st century. Further more, many companies are aggressively pushing this behaviour as know one should fear for their job or the ability to speak up


We're not in the 1900's anymore where you whip slaves.

Whipping them demonstrates to others to be on the look out for your job to be axed for forgetting to place a cup in the dishwasher.

If this is the way your managed or you mange, i feel terribly sorry for you and the place of work you exist in..
