I'd be overjoyed if it were Tesla, but Tesla like to vertically integrate as much as possible, and buy out anything they need. Thus, I doubt they would merely take a stake of the company.
Given that legacy OEMs are well behind the 8-ball, I'd be guessing one of them. Volkswagen makes sense in many ways, but given how the US Govt was to guarantee the US supply chain, I'd be thinking GM or Ford might be making a play in some way to keep the ties across the country...
Still, Samsung and SKInnovation are expanding into the US, so they would also make sense...
I wouldn't be upset if it were Samsung or Sanyo with a HUGE contract as part of the deal!
