Instead of a defined core, the RC drilling sends granules up to the surface in the order of depth. Basically you fill up bags or buckets from a tube and marking them in order of appearance. You can then broadly analyse with an XRF or visually inspect but is isn't great for keeping visual data on record compared to diamond core tubes and doesn't photograph well. Broadly speaking the results are reliable provided the sampled rock is handled properly at the surface where results are less likely to be mixed up. With diamond core you can be cm perfect with the intervals, with RC, montoring and ore handling is critical. Diamond Core gives you a library for keeping forever.
