It's unfortunate but not really ironic. Like all of us, management is lacking a crystal ball which says exactly when the share price will do what. These deals don't just get done overnight or purely on the buyer's terms, so there's no way without blatant share pump campaigns to boost the share price before a capital raising. Admittedly, this is a common strategy used by other companies, but on the plus side, unlike them, we don't have good reason to fear a CR when we get good news announcements, because it's not our management's style.

Let's wait and see what the deal actually is before criticising them. The fact that they did this quite suddenly suggests to me it's probably going to be good, because you only suddenly jump at deals when they're good ones (or when you're an idiot, but management has seemed astute until now).
