Anyway - to the suspension - my understanding is you can't just leap to a suspension from the get-go, you have to have a trading halt first, then you go into suspension. So even if 4DS knew this was going to take a week, they have to go into trading halt first.

I'm thinking it will be one of these announcements with the IMEC logo on it. So 4DS is at the mercy of IMEC keeping up their end and also not having too much they want to change.

1. 4DS would have drafted the announcement.
2. 4DS puts the company into TH and sends the announcement to IMEC for review
3. IMEC sends it back with red pen on it
4. 4DS revises the announcement, sends it to IMEC again to get their sign off
5. Sign off received - post to ASX.

This market suspension isn't a result of incompetence, just how technical organisations work - everything needs a triple sign-off before it goes out the door. I'm speculating that somewhere between steps 3 and 5, the deadline for the TH passed and 4DS had to suspend the company from quotation.

Wow, that sounds profoundly reasonable. I'm dead convinced you've called it - it's a technical update that requires verification from IMEC. I suspect it's probably a somewhat neutral announcement in that case, with more details to specify the august data and probably announce the next lot.

That's actually kind of hopeful for me. WD would get an absolute bargain price if they bought up right now and... I kinda don't want them to get an absolute bargain price.
